Sue is the Republican, Conservative and Independence candidate for Ulster County Legislator.

She has served on the Legislature for 20 years and was the first woman to hold the position of Majority Leader. She serves as Chair of the Ways and Means Committee and is a member of the Economic Development/Education, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Committee. Her past committee assignments include Chair of the Personnel Committee, Education and Cultural Affairs, and Economic Development Committee, member of various standing Committees and numerous Special Committees.

Sue serves on the Board of the School-to-Work Partnership, is a member of the RSVP Executive Board, and on the Advisory Board of the Mid-Hudson Rural Integrated Delivery System. She is also a member of the Ellenville Noonday Club, Wawarsing-Ellenville Fourth of July Committee, Ellenville Regional Hospital Auxiliary, Town of Wawarsing Republican Committee, Town of Rochester Republican Club, and the Ulster County Women's Republican Club.

A 29-year resident of Ellenville, Sue is employed as a Community Liaison for State Senator John J. Bonacic. She is married to John Cummings, a Branch Manager with Ulster Federal Credit Union. Their daughter, Jennifer Gilles, is a teacher at Ellenville Middle School.
