Obviously Alex Miller and Francis Gray belong to Lenin's school of thought: A lie told often enough becomes the truth... If you throw enough mud, some of it will stick...
Miller-n-Gray do not seem capable of telling the truth, and judging by what happened in our town over the last few months, they wouldn't recognize the truth if it came up and bit their noses off. As one of them is a registered Democrat and the other a registered Republican (or the other way around), this isn't as much about their politics as about their character.
Councilman Alex Miller found nails in his driveway and quickly accused the Republicans because they were "Worried about me looking at the books, or asking questions... This, to me, is a violent political act..." The most vocal of Miller's opponents? Of course, the Rochester Republican Club.
After the above smear appeared in Times Herald-Record, Alex Miller changed the tune:
"The Times-Herald Record news reporter got it wrong. Recent violence against Town of Rochester elected officials and upon its citizens is not a battle by Republicans against Democrats... The reporter got it wrong, factually and contextually."
Let me see... You find about 150 galvanized roofing nails in your driveway, and, before an arrest is made and a verdict is rendered, you take your hunch to the press. You throw mud at the Republican Club, then back-pedal and blame the reporter.
Fast forward.
Daily Freeman: "Two Town Board members allege that members of the Rochester Republican Club are committing vandalism on board members' property in retribution for actions in support of the Democratic majority over the past year."
Councilman Alex Miller: "I'm talking about continued... harassment, vandalism or disturbances on private property of some of the members of this board."
Councilman Francis Gray: "Unfortunately, the vandalism that's been done to Town Board members, there's like a shield over it, like nobody knows about it," he said. "In my case, there was $2,000 worth of damage to a new car and tearing out barn windows within just a few days of an incident where I voted... counter to what the Republican Club wanted."
The modus operandi sounds familiar... You throw mud at the Republican Club, then back-pedal and blame the reporter (this time by proxy): "Alex Miller did not accuse the Republican Club of this vandalism. He said he did not know who was doing it..."
Really? Another reporter gets it wrong, and pulls "Republican Club" from thin air, without anybody mentioning it?
Both Miller and Gray are notorious for smearing people and organizations who dare to oppose their agenda.
Miller smeared the Accord-Kerhonkson Business Alliance, Miller smeared the Republican Club, Miller smeared the Republican Club's webmaster, Miller smeared the Republican Club's webmaster's wife. In fact, since he was elected, Alex Miller hasn't done much else.
Gray smeared the Accord-Kerhonkson Business Alliance, Gray smeared the Republican Club, Gray smeared the Republican Club's webmaster, Gray smeared the Republican Club's webmaster's wife. In fact, since he was elected, Francis Gray hasn't done much else...
Think about it: Alex Miller, Pinocchio, Francis Gray...
