Really Walter, who are you?

Walter Levy, Pornography Researcher

Saturday, January 27, after the presentation of the proposed Marbletown Heritage Preservation Law at the UCCC's Vanderlyn Hall — I asked you — Walter Levy — to comment on the treatment inflicted on my wife by Alex Miller, Tony Spano, Pam Duke and Francis Gray — all Democrats on the Rochester Town Board — under the "adult" supervision of Rod Futerfas, town's attorney.
After 30 seconds of grasping for words you took the political correct way out: "What Manuela does in her house shouldn't be anyone's business..."
I said "Walter, you assume that Manuela's name is connected with an adult website..."
From way beyond reasonable doubt, you blurted it out: "C'mon Jon, I saw your name too on the Internet, sandwiched beetween tits and ass!"
Walter, with all due respect, "what you've just said proves that you are Internet illiterate."
"Jon, back down, you can't call me stupid!" I know I have an accent, but still, from "Internet illiterate" to "stupid" is quite a stretch... You hear what you want to hear. I offered to edify you by just spending two minutes together in front of a computer. You declined.
I gave up on you and went to talk to Julian Adams (Certified Local Government Coordinator from New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation) while you and Manuela continued the conversation which ended online: |

Dear Walter:
Please be so kind and help me to get to the web page/site you mentioned
today... What should I type exactly on the Yahoo search?! There is
nothing as #9 or 10 as indicated during my "interview" on Wed night...
Thanks,
Manuela

Manuela:
After our conversation on Saturday, I've decided to let to limit my
involvement and not be drawn into this controversy.
I'm sorry that I can't be of more help.

So many chairs, so little time...

According to your e-mail above, you, Walter Levy, Professor Emeritus of English, have decided "to let to limit" your involvement and not be drawn into this controversy.
And... how exactly are you going to do that? Because, Walter, you can't go AWOL now. This town depends on you, and you know it... from your own website:
"Since 1996, Levy has committed himself to local and regional activities. He is president of the Rondout-Esopus Land conservancy; a board member of the Friends of Historic Rochester; and a member of the Town of Rochester Historic Preservation Commission. Levy was appointed to the Town of Rochester Planning and Zoning Committee, and is chair of the sub-committee on Rural Character."
You are too modest, Walter... Why leave out co-chair of the Comprehensive Plan Committee... chair of the Historic Properties Group... chair of Heritage Day Planning Committee?
|
|
Walter, what's your secret?
|
|

|
|
Really, what's your secret? The more committees pop-up, on more committees you pop-up. Who loves you at the Town Hall? Councilman Alex Miller? After all, he sits on your company's board of directors.
What? It's not who you know, it's who you are? Let see...
Your entry winning an Honorable Mention in Zali Win's sign contest? You "borrowed" it from the Internet...
The logo you "designed" for the Town of Rochester" Identical with the one for New Paltz...
Christian music at Skate Time 209?
You told me "Len and Terry should be spanked for it..."
The gnome on Kelder's Farm?
You told me while making faces: "No, it shouldn't be allowed..."
Accord-Kerhonkson Business Alliance participation in the Heritage Day? You killed it, the business alliance was too controversial for your masters...

Jonathan Blair found this item in the New York Times, Thursday, February 22, 2007, page B3.
Headline reads: Public Meetings Are a Brawl So Mayor Suggests a Bouncer.
The town is Edgewater, NJ, which is located on the Hudson, near the GW Bridge.

Jonathan Blair missed the pattern: Nancy Merse, Edgewater's Mayor, is a Democrat.
