To the Editor,
You should be aware that there is an individual who is posing as a reporter for your newspaper. At a meeting of the Rochester Town Board on March 1, 2007, he introduced himself as a representative of your newspaper, but his unprofessional actions clearly indicated that he is not a skilled or unbiased journalist.
During the public comment period, he was seen applauding along with a faction in the audience that was voicing strongly partisan political points of view. I thought you would want to know about this incident since it reflects very poorly on your newspaper.
Sincerely,
Cameron Bonner
The letter above was published in The Press (March 9, 2007). The author referred to Jim Wood, and tried to rake a few brownie points by calling 95% of the audience "a faction that was voicing strongly partisan political points of view." Living in the amen corner really distorts one's perception of reality.

Two heavy hitters return to write for The Press, Jimmy Wood and Matt Youngfrau

The Press proudly welcomes veteran reporters Jim Wood & Matt Youngfrau to their staff. Mr. Wood who had been the managing editor for several years is once again writing about local news and events for The Press. Jim's savvy style of reporting and his eagerness to work to help the community by bringing the news from places like Ellenville Central School, Rondout Valley Schools and the business districts we serve in Ulster County is coming back with a renewed vigor.
Mr. Wood, a life long resident and US Army veteran brings much to the table and will tackle the Ulster County side of news and happenings... Many of you may remember Jimmy for bringing out the story of Jason Miller who passed but not before Jim told us of who Jason Miller was and we all learned about that beautiful young man...
"We are very excited about both of these two men coming back to The Press," said Michael Walkerwicz, publisher of the paper. "We are very happy to have these two men back at a growing newspaper and we all plan on working very hard to bring you some more exciting changes in the near future."
We at The Press will continue battling for the little guy, the workingman, the taxpayer and our troops, never forgetting that we live in this great country and have our freedoms thanks to them.
